About this project

What you'll build: Create a basic to-do list web app where you can add, mark as complete, and delete tasks. Your app will work right in your browser, with a clean, simple design.

Why it's a good starter: This project uses only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript-no frameworks or servers! You'll see instant results as you code, build confidence, and finish with a working app you can show off.

What you'll learn: You'll get hands-on practice with web page structure, styling, and interactive features, gaining skills you can reuse in almost any beginner web project.

Milestones
1. Setup & Plan
10 marks 5d
Submit a project plan outlining the main features (add, complete, delete task), and set up your project folder with blank HTML, CSS, and JS files. Provide a screenshot of your folder structure and a short summary of your plan.
2. Core Build: Add Tasks
30 marks 10d
Implement and submit a web page where users can type a task and add it to a visible list. Show your HTML form/input, and basic display of added tasks. Submit code and a screenshot of the page adding at least three tasks.
3. Core Build: Complete & Delete Tasks
30 marks 10d
Add features to mark a task as complete (e.g., strike-through or different color) and to delete a task from the list. Submit your code and screenshots demonstrating both features working.
4. Testing & Polish
15 marks 5d
Test your app for bugs (e.g., adding empty tasks, deleting all tasks). Polish the layout with CSS for readability. Submit a checklist of tests you tried, and before/after screenshots of design improvements.
5. Demo & Short Report
15 marks 5d
Record a short (2-3 minute) screencast demo of your app in use, and write a half-page reflection on what you learned and any challenges you overcame. Submit the video and document.
